All-in Education joins sector-wide Statement of Action on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

All-in Education joins 2026 sector-wide Statement of Action on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Education led by NAHT in partnership with education bodies across the sector.

EDI work has faced increased scrutiny and challenge across education and wider society. That has sharpened our purpose rather than diluted it.
— Johan Jensen, Director of All-in Education

The statement brings together organisations working at every level of education to make a clear, shared commitment to advancing equality, diversity and inclusion through practical action. It recognises both the urgency of the challenges facing the sector and the responsibility education has in shaping a fairer, more cohesive society.

Why All-in Education is involved

EDI work in education is being more closely scrutinised than ever. That scrutiny has sharpened the focus of our work rather than diluted it.

Schools, trusts and governing boards are asking better questions. They are looking for approaches that are credible, evidence-informed and grounded in the realities of leadership, governance and organisational culture. This statement aligns closely with how All-in Education works.

Our contribution reflects a clear belief: inclusive leadership, strong governance and thoughtful organisational practice are essential to the long-term health of education. They support better decision-making, stronger staff experience and a greater sense of belonging for pupils, families and communities.

Our focus and commitments

Over the past year, All-in Education has continued to support schools, trusts and groups of schools to translate intent into sustained action. This has included:

·      advisory work with senior leadership teams and governors

·      whole-school and trust-level diagnostics

·      development focused on inclusive leadership, recruitment and governance practice

Feedback from schools highlights impact across leadership confidence, recruitment practice, staff experience and governance effectiveness.

Alongside this work, the Minority Ethnic Governors Network (MEGN) has continued to grow as both a recruitment pathway and a professional network, supporting governing board diversification while strengthening the confidence and contribution of governors from global majority backgrounds.

Through Trust Inclusion, the Inclusive People Leader Programme has continued to build inclusive leadership capability across multiple cohorts, with evaluation reinforcing the importance of inclusive leadership as a core organisational skill.

Looking ahead

As a signatory to this statement, All-in Education is committed to transparency, collaboration and accountability. Progress against commitments will be reviewed annually, and learning will continue to be shared openly across the sector.

In 2026, our focus remains on partnership working, evidence-informed practice and supporting schools and trusts to lead well, govern wisely and create environments where people experience genuine belonging.
